The story

It happened for real

Spider crabs off the Australian coast, moulting season, one ray. Filmed by the BBC. We didn't invent the feeling, we just put a ticker on it.

The moult

Once a year every crab sheds its shell. For days it's soft, and anything with a mouth can get it. Alone, it doesn't make it. That's when you need family.

The tower

So they pile up. Thousands of crabs lock their hard shells over the soft ones into a living tower. The stingray circles all night and can't get through.

The impostor

The BBC dropped a robot crab into the moult to film it. When the ray came, the family covered the robot too. Nobody asked where it came from.

The new era

Every hour, on the hour, the wheel spins 10 times and splits the hour's fee pool equally between the wallets it lands on. Only your best crab counts. One Common is 1 entry, a Mythic is 250, and a Mythic is still 250 whether you own one crab or fifty. Collect as many as you like, put them all on the beach, your entries are the rarest one you hold. No wallet twice in the same draw. Every result ships with its seed so you can recompute it.
